FIAT Technologically Speaking

The award-winning 1.4L 16v MultiAir Engine is unique only to the FIAT 500 delivering 101 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 98 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm with 30 mpg city, 38 mpg hwy¹. The 1.4L 16v MultiAir® Engine has electrohydraulic valves for more dynamic and direct control of air and combustion. This improves power by 10% and torque by 15%, cylinder-by- cylinder, stroke-by-stroke. It also helps reduce pollutant emissions with an added 10% fuel economy improvement over conventional naturally-aspirated engines.

This standard feature enables drivers to make calls, play music and drive without ever taking their hands off the steering wheel. FIAT Electronic Stability Control

When you drive you should, of course, always pay attention. When you drive a FIAT® 500, the car also pays attention. Electronic Stability Control⁴ is designed to assist drivers in monitoring control of their vehicles during extreme steering maneuvers. ESC senses when a vehicle is starting to spin or plow and attempts to correct the vehicle’s course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels.

FIAT Rear Park Assist

Available on the FIAT® 500, standard on the 500c.The sensors use ultrasonic waves to alert you when you’re about to run into trouble, like a curb, or a trash can, or another car.
